With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Bennie Franklin Matthews of Hawthorne, Florida, born in Searcy, Arkansas, who passed away on November 29, 2022 at the age of 101. He was predeceased by: his wife Helen Matthews; his children, Jimmy Matthews and Sandra "Sandy" Lee Brown Spikes; his grandchildren, Michael Morrison and Danette Pecararo; and his siblings, Levi Matthews, Elmer Matthews, Fannie Rogers, Bernice Clark, Dorothy, Frank and Gilbert.
He is survived by: his daughters, Brenda Kulikowski, Marie Morrison and Vera Frances Pecararo; his stepchildren, David C. Myers (Mary) and Diana Myers Spence (Dave); and his grandchildren, Brenda Williams, Toni Ferfaro and Keith Pecararo. He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
