He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Sam H. Gurr and Eldie Butler Gurr; his wife Harriett; his daughters, Lisa G. Baggett (Gregg) of Cairo, GA and Terri G. Perego Tallahassee; his grandchildren, Miranda Lyons Midlothian (Tim) and Ethan Perego of Tallahassee; his great grandchildren, Allie and Avery Lyons of Midlothian, VA; his brother Lee Gurr (Sharon) of Tallahassee; and also Eldie. He was also cherished by cousins and nieces.
