It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Fredia Lashel Henley (Hastings, Florida), born in Saint Augustine, Florida, who passed away on December 28, 2024, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Freddie B. Henley and Eartha Lee Anderson Henley; and her brothers, Enoch A. Henley and Curtis D. Henley. She is survived by: her children, Schmeikqua Greene, Shenita Thompson, Herbert Simmons and William Backman; her siblings, Solomon A. Henley, Claretha L. Smith and Michael R. Henley; her grandchildren, Ticia Ledet, Rasean Ledet, Issiah Backman, Naomi Backman and Reign Backman; her great grandchild Yuri Ledet; and her uncle Rayfield Culler. She is also survived by two aunts; seven nephews, three nieces, along with a host of grand-nephews, grand-nephews, grand-nieces, cousins, and friends.
