It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Lamar Mercer Sr. of Greenwood, Florida, who passed away on February 25, 2025, at the age of 59, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint William Lamar leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Doug Mercer and Shirley Ann Stanley. He is survived by: his wife Wanda Mercer; his children, Will Mercer, Christina Nicole Berry, William Edward Blizzard and Tommy Lee Blizard; and his siblings, Wade Mercer (Olivia), Melisa Diane Hartigan (Scott) of Germany, Rhonda Kay Thomas (Jason), Benny Cox and Ricky Whitaker. He is also survived by six grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Calendar James and Sikes Funeral Home - Maddox Chapel (4278 Lafayette St, Marianna, FL 32446). A memorial service was held on Tuesday, March 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
