He was predeceased by: his parents, William A. "Dock" Smith and Rintha May Smith; and his grandparents, Grady, Emma Smith, Travis and Mary Lott.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Smith; his children, Alison Wolfe (Randy) and Jerry Smith, Jr. (Michelle); his grandchildren, Cassandra Hebert, Jordan Smith (Hannah), Gunner Smith (Kristen), Christopher Wolfe (Nicole) and Mason Smith; his great grandchildren, Madison Baxter, Henry Hebert, Lily Tran, Cooper Wolfe, Palmer Smith and Crew Smith; and his siblings, Cathy Bruce (David), June Andrews (Austin), Larry Smith, Ricky Joe Smith (Donna), Tommy Smith and Roger Smith. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
