He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Jessie B. Dickson; his stepfather Bolen Dickson; his son Robert; his wife Darla Chastain (Cox); his children, William "Scott" Chastain and Rhonda Caldwell (Mark) of Middleburg, Florida; his grandchildren, Stephen Knowles (Kristiana) of Jacksonville Beach, Florida and Amanda Freeman of Jacksonville, Florida; and his great grandchildren, Garrick, Lizzie, Alex, Grayson, Claire, Cadence and Brooklyn.
