He was predeceased by: his parents, Zack Mitchell and Daisy Green Mitchell; his wife Florencie Mervyne Cannon Mitchell; his daughter Charlotte Ann Mitchell; and his brothers, Leslie Mitchell, James "Shorty" Wilson Mitchell and Thomas Counts.
He is survived by: his daughter Belinda Mitchell Miles (Johnnie); his grandchildren, Myra Lindsey Miles and Beau Mitchell Miles of Grand Ridge; and his siblings, Franklin "Dick" Mitchell of Dellwood, Annie Lou Rabon of Sneads, Daisy Suggs (Floyd) of Dellwood and Doris Hale of Mobile, AL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
