She was predeceased by: her parents, William H. Burkett and Lois Maness Burkett; her husband James J. Sykes; and her siblings, James Thomas Burkett, William H. Burkett, Jr., Betty Jane Burkett and Mary Ruth Ralls.
She is survived by: her children, Deanna Witte (Bill), Brenda Lastinger (David) and James "Jamie" Sykes (Tammie); her grandchildren, Connie Flores (Mark), Stacey Chadwell (Billy), Mallory Lastinger, Morgan Sykes and Lyndsey Sykes; and her siblings, Georgia Williams and John Burkett. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
