He is survived by: his mother Orine Anderson Whatley; his wife Deborah Adkison Whatley; his sons, Gary Simmons Jr. (Shannon) and Tony Simmons (Vicky); his siblings, Becky Whatley Motley and Wyman Whatley (Joan); and his grandchildren, Michelle Simmons, Ashlee Simmons (Trey Tucker), Nikki Simmons, Trey Simmons (Allie) and Tyler Simmons.
