He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Holland and Eva Holland; his siblings, Betty, Rose, Annie and Bryant; and his son Robert Jr..

He is survived by: his wife Ellen; his children, Sheila Renae (Lamar), Marcus Alan (Vanessa) and Stephen Joshua (Kym); and his granddaughter Cyndi. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
