He was predeceased by: his parents, Eva Nelson and Oscar Nelson. He is survived by: his wife Helen; and his daughters, Doreen, Laura, Donna and Teresa. He is also survived by his wife, 4 daughters, 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

He transitioned to his new home in glory on February 27, 2024, after courageously battling with Parkinson's disease for many years.
