He was predeceased by: his brothers, Jimmie, Dennis "Mickey", Walter "Bootie" and Freddie Merritt. He is survived by: his wife Beulah Mae Staggs; his sons, Michael (Ruth) and Roger (Tamma); his grandchildren, Christine and Danny; his great grandchildren, Liam, Jaxon, Malakai and Nikolas; and his brothers, John (Sue) and Eddie. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, friends.
