He is survived by: his wife Geraldine Berry; his children, Cheryl Washington, Lorry James, Lihua Smith, Arthur L. Berry III, Craig D. Smith and William James; his grandchildren, Lawrence Washington, Abril Suffill, Andrew Berry, Autumn Berry, Shacrai Jackson and Ying Smith; his great grandchildren, Laurabia, Justice, Empress, Ka'D'vine and Nova; his nephew Jon Berry (Pete); his nieces, Gayle Crawford, Phyliss Berry, Dawn Berry, Sophia Penn and Michelle West; his cousins, Audry Reevey, Shirley Reevey, Floyd Reevey and Kelli Reevy; and his sisters-in-law, Carol Berry, Gloria Currey Williams, Joyce Branch and Jean Leach. He is also survived by relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, may be made to the Alzheimer's Assocation.
