He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur Whitley Sr. and Lula Locke Whitley; his wife Flora Jean Whitley; his siblings, Buck, John, Helen, Charolette and Gladys; and his granddaughter Jennifer "Jenny" Skye Sanders.
He is survived by: his brother Rodney Whitley (Diane); and his children, Tammy Sanders (Mike), Shane Whitley, Katie Sundberg and Troy Whitley. He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
