Though Van Edith may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lottie L. Carter and James C. Carter; her siblings, Louise Archer and Timothy Carter; and her goddaughter Sheila Parker.
She is survived by: her children, Aaliyah Smith-Carter, Andriel Smith-Carter and Curtis Smith-Carter; and her sister Mary Hicks (Maxie Hicks). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and loving family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Upper Room Church of God in Christ (3575 NE 15th St, Gainesville, FL 32601).
