She is survived by: her husband Edgar "Lou" Thurmond; her siblings, Paul Lindsay Burgess, Deborah Kay Davis and Fred "Leon" Burgess; her siblings-in-law, Joy Thurmond Belcher and Fredrick "Fred" Hunter Thurmond; and her children, Dana Baxley James, Donna Baxley Dixon and John Douglas Baxley. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
