He is survived by: his wife Sharon Tubbs; his children, Venus Chery (Chausnel), LaCedric Green (Jaime), Janet Brailsford (Roslyn), Kylinda Sharper and Stephenie Tubbs; his grandchildren, Mikell (Neicy), Tylek, Nehemiah, Cha'Nell, Kiana, Pailen, Isaiah, A'den and Zhuri; his siblings, Wanda Stuart, Jeffrey Tubbs, Jonathan Tubbs (Hiligard) and George Covington III (Susan); his brother-in-law Howard Sharper Jr.; his niece Meisha King; and his nephews, Anthony Ricks and George Covington IV. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Chestnut Funeral Home (18 NW 8th Ave, Gainesville, FL 32601). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Foundation Chapel Church of God (13220 NW 150th Ave, Alachua, FL 32615). A graveside service was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM at the Jacksonville National Cemetery (4093 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218).
