He was predeceased by: his wife Elizabeth Purdy (Slate); his siblings, Ross, David, Thomas, Richard and Emma; his parents, Ross and Dagna (Tufte); and his daughters, Cassie and Roberta.
He is survived by: his children, Steve Howard Purdy (Karen) of Claymont, DE, Brian Purdy of Gainesville, Brett Cornelison (Teresa) of Gainesville and Cheri Purdy; his caregiver Lora Purdy Ryan of Gainesville; his grandchildren, Kirsten, Alexander, Brett, Jr., Melinda and Brittany; his great grandchildren, Helen, Decklen and Lorraine; and his grandsons, David and Solomon.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Altrusa House in Gainesville, FL, or the Alzheimer's Association.
