She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles B. Brown and Ada Jackson Brown (Joyner) of Huntsville, AL; her daughter Delores Brooks; and her siblings, Thurman, Charles Brown of Huntsville, AL and Linda Sykes.
She is survived by: her brother Ronnie; her son Kenneth Brooks of Leesburg, FL; her adoptive daughters, Marcia Bates and Margaret; and her daughters, Deborah Thomas-Robinson, Nondumisa Johnson and Rosalyn Hall. She is also survived by nieces, nephews.
She was employed with IBM in Lexington, KY from 1985-1988. was blessed to receive several awards that recognized her contributions to the Education field.
