With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Robert William Oakes of Fruitland Park, Florida, born in Massena, New York, who passed away on July 27, 2024 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John E. Oakes and Isabella Oakes (Parkinson); his wife Dolores Derouin; and his siblings, R. Elaine Bradham, Roland James Oakes, Richard Oakes and Gary Oakes.
He is survived by: his children, Toni Oakes of Massena, Nancy Oakes Adams of Norfolk, Robert Oakes, Jr. and Kim Oakes of Fruitland, FL; and his sister Shirley Zimmer of Wisconsin. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Robert was born on April 24, 1932 in Massena, son of the late John E. and Isabella (Parkinson) Oakes.
