He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwards Kolbe and Norma Kolbe (Siefke); his sister Ellen Craine; and his nephew P. J. Hammond. He is survived by: his wife Carole Kolbe (Tarno); his siblings, Barbara Hammond (Paul) and Phillip Kolbe (Virginia); his nieces, Linda Greer (Scott) and Tara Heitzenrater; his great-niece Abigail Haag (Heitzenrater); and his great-nephews, Craig Heitzenrater, Mark Woodard and Christopher Woodard.
