He was predeceased by: his parents, James B. Bowen and Ollie M. Bowen (Spears); and his son Wannis Richard Bowen, II. He is survived by: his wife Pat Bowen of Frostproof, FL; his daughters, Laura Bowen Coffelt (John) of Lookout, WV and Patsy Britt Jennings (Robert) of Avon Park, FL; his daughter-in-law Pam Bowen; his sons, David Hinze, Blaine Gulino (Vicky) and Quincy Britt (Trish) of Willis, TX; and his siblings, Joan Morley of Avon Park, FL and Ronald Bowen. He is also survived by numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.
