It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leon Ray Gettis of Freeport, Florida, born in Charlotte, North Carolina, who passed away on August 2, 2020, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Gettis and Viola Gettis. He is survived by: his wife Anita "Lou" Gettis of Freeport, Florida; his children, Cathy Sanders of Port St, Michael Leon Gettis of Kissimmee and Janis Ratcliffe of Margate, Florida; his granddaughter Lindsey Sanders of Davie; and his siblings, Gary Gettis of Jacksonville, Florida, Brenda O'Daniel of Sparta and Joyce Ashley of Mathews.
