He was predeceased by: his parents, James J. Murphy, Jr. and Evelyn Jones Murphy; his son James J. Murphy IV; and his sister-in-law Eve Morrison. He is survived by: his wife Eileen Morrison; his children, Brian R. Murphy (Diane) of Freeport, Florida and Cynthia E. Zern (Jason) of West Grove, Pennsylvania; his grandchildren, Zachary Murphy, Joshua Zern, Alex Murphy, Harrison "Harry" Zern, Aliyah Murphy and Colin Zern; and his sister Carol Murphy Fravel. He is also survived by his wife, two children, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild.
