He was predeceased by: his parents, Mettie Ann Mize Rutherford and David Edward Rutherford; his wife Ruby J. Taunton Rutherford; his daughter Linda Gail Rutherford; and his brother Daniel Mize Quigley.
He is survived by: his children, Sandy Rutherford Odom (Jack), Pamela Renee Rutherford and Rodney R. Rutherford (Vicky); and his sister Shirley Ann Barton. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and three great great-grandchildren.
