She was predeceased by: her parents, John Quincy Gillis Sr. and Birtha Gilbert Gillis Brannon; her husband Leon Mixon Blanton; her siblings, Carol Brannen Myer, Dorothy Smith, John Quincy Gillis Jr. and Henry Brannen; and her son Ronald Leon Blanton.
She is survived by: her children, Shelia Neal, Susan Mullis, Shelly Olowokandi and Darrell Edward Blanton (Cynthia); and her sisters, Patricia Thomas (Howard) and Anna Jean Higgins (Johnny). She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
