It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of James Leonard Thoreen in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, who passed away on October 12, 2023, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He is survived by: his wife Norma Jean Collins; his children, James Thoreen, Jr. (Kathy) of Asheville, Susan Thoreen of Lakeland, Florida, Alice Thoreen of Niceville, Florida, John Thoreen (Paula) of Houston and Mary Thoreen (Jim Young) of Asheville; and his grandchildren, Lisa Lightcap, Leslie Elble, Kelly Lopez and James Thoreen. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jim's name to the Fort Walton Beach First United Methodist Church, 103 First St. SE, Fort Walton Beach, Fl. 32548; or The Arts & Design Society of Fort Walton Beach, 17 First Street SE, Fort Walton Beach, Florida, 32548.
