It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Irene Slay of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, who passed away on January 5, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ira Mack Hamilton and Anna Bell Gainey Hamilton; her husband Carl Slay; and her siblings, Louise and Eugene.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Barker (Tina) and Charlene Neace; her grandchildren, Brandy Parker (Travis) and Charlie Madden (Amy); her great grandchildren, Sophia, Preston, Annabella, Shandi and Harley; her siblings, Ira Gorden Hamilton and Pauline Roberts; her nieces, Dawn, Nina and Vanessa; and her nephew William Mack Roberts. She is also survived by numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Davis-Watkins Funeral Home Chapel (1474 FL-83, Defuniak Springs, FL 32433). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
