He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbert Johnson and Georgia Catney Johnson of Fort Pierce, FL; and his siblings, Wilbert Johnson, Jr., Calvin Johnson, Jimmie Johnson and Betty Ann Johnson-Haynes.

He is survived by: his wife Carolyn A. Wimes Johnson; his children, Willis Johnson, Jr. (Terri) of Fort Pierce, Michael Johnson of Tallahassee, Florida, Regina Sampson (Steven) of Atlanta, Amy Harriel (Justin) of Atlanta, Khadijah Johnson of Atlanta, Georgia and Tiwanna Lightbrown of Durham; his siblings, Charles Johnson (Gloria), Harold Johnson, Janice McGriff, Jeanette Johnson and Constance Slater (Anthony); his sisters-in-law, Effie Johnson, Rita Johnson and Christine Taylor-Johnson; his grandchildren, Torin, Tarique, Jasmine, Destiny, Taronald, Lamar, Ashari, Jalen, Jayla, Nia and Kellier Dixon; and his goddaughter Wenisha Adams. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and sorrowing friends.
