She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Leslie Shanahan and Ella Decker Shanahan; her husband James Duane Shippy; her siblings, Leslie Shanahan (Sue), Nancy Heldman and Alice Shanahan; her stepchildren, Susan Essilinger (Tim), Robin Emm (Jim) and James E. Shippy (Judy); and her grandchildren, Brian Bellan (Hillary), Katlin Budynas (Daniel), Alex Shippy and Michael Emm.
She served for many years as a member and president of the Dutton S. Peterson Library in Odessa, NY, a member of the Board of Directors of RSVP in Schuyler County and as Chairman of The Chaplaincy Committee at Schuyler Hospital.
