He was predeceased by: his parents, Simp Cherry, Sr. and Josephine Clayton Cherry Bennett; and his siblings, Julia Etta, Mary Louise and Willie Oscar.
He is survived by: his sister Josie Cherry Lamb; his nephew Fredrick Reeves (Shenekia); his brother-in-law Albert Lee; his stepchildren, Connie Williams Hall and Bobby Williams; his friend Frances McBride; and his nieces and nephews, Eric Gollett, Albert Lee III (Veronica) of Jacksonville, Gary Lee (Anna) of Ocala, Florida, Sylvia Cherry of Clearwater, Stephanie Gaskin of Fort Pierce, Stella Jones (Charles) of Jacksonville, Shirley Gaskin of McDonough, Georgia, Charlene Fuller of Fort Pierce and Melissa Crist Mincy. He is also survived by other nephews, nieces, friends, and neighbors.
