She was predeceased by: her husband Walter Leon Hastings Sr.; her parents, Donie Stokes Smith and James Smith; and her sister Carol Smith Bruhn. She is survived by: her children, Walter "Wally" Hastings and Sandra "Missy" Hastings Lundy (Johnny Lundy); her grandson Cody Lundy; and her siblings, Renie Smith Culverhouse of Fort Pierce, Judy Smith Buchanon of Kenly and James "Jimbo" Smith.
