With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Samuel Lee Hicks (Fort Pierce, Florida), born in Whatley, Alabama, who passed away on January 24, 2020 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Mattie Louise Coates and Andrew Hicks; his siblings, Emma Robinson, Lorraine Taite and Willie Williams; and his great-nephew Christard Hicks.

He is survived by: his wife Mattie Hill; his friend Hattie Hill Baker of Fort Pierce, FL; his children, Sandra Alterma (Urbain) of Port St, Samuel Hicks, Jr. (Sosa), Twenty, Michael Vaughn of Clarksville, TN and Lawrence Hicks of Fort Pierce, FL; his stepsons, Larry Williams and Anthony Williams of Fort Pierce, FL; his goddaughter Lynnett Luc of Fort Perce, FL; and his siblings, Robert Hicks (Eddie Hicks), Walter Hicks (David Hicks), Ersell Hicks (Freda) of Flint, MI, Charlie Hicks (Jackie) of Kankakee, IL and Ammie Hicks of Fort Pierce, FL. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other sorrowing friends.
