He is survived by: his wife Helen Ruth Hanes of Fort Pierce, FL; his children, Sheila Marie Hanes Miesse of Hamilton, OH and Robert D. Hanes, Jr. (Jill) of Willard, OH; his grandchildren, Melissa Bernas (Matt) of Oswego, IL, Alexander R. Hanes (Erin) of Sandusky, OH and Joshua P. Hanes of Sandusky, OH; his great grandchildren, Lola Bernas of Oswego, IL and Eva Bernas of Oswego, IL; his siblings-in-law, Nancy Lewis of South Webster, OH, Edward Mault (Pamela) of Wheelersburg, OH, Dale Bauer of South Webster, OH, Patricia Hilterbrand (Isaac) of Fort Pierce, FL and Mamie Stambaugh (Bob) of South Webster, OH; and his cousin Donald Crabtree (Abby) of Mt. Orab, OH. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
