She was predeceased by: her parents, Nathaniel Smith and Elise Grant; her husband Arthur Hooks; and her siblings, Roy Smith, Charles Smith, Tony Smith, Harold Smith, Thomas Smith, Ruby Ponder Burgess, Catherine Sneed, Bernice Manning, Martha Ann Smith and Alise Smith.
She is survived by: her children, Anthony L. Smith (Deborah) and Clara Smith; and her siblings, C. D. Grant, Marie Scott, Clara Mack, JoAnne Smith and Annie Doris Powell. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
