Rainey of Litchfield, CT; his wife Joan Haney of Fort Pierce, FL; and his son-in-law Evans Brasfield, Jr. of Burbank, CA..
He is survived by: his significant other Linda Hewlett; his close friend Linda Hewlett of Fort Pierce, FL; his children, Karin L. Rainey of Burbank, CA and Joseph K. Rainey, III (Jahala Chrzan) of Leesburg, FL; his granddaughters, Minna G. Brasfield and Georgia B. Brasfield of Burbank, CA; and his siblings, Peter J. Rainey (Sheila) of Nicholasville, KY, Doreen J. Tavares of New Bedford, Paul A. Rainey (Kathy) of Falmouth, MA, James H. Rainey (Susie) of Lititz, PA and John E. Rainey (Melanie) of Bradenton, FL. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution can be made to Heathcote Botanical Gardens in Fort Pierce.
