He was predeceased by: his parents, Grace (Bonanzi) and Joseph J. DeRoss, Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Diane; his pet Snoop; his sons, Matthew DeRoss (Lilia Luciano) and Blake DeRoss (Jennifer); his stepchildren, Michael Trabulsy (Kristin) and Kristen Guettler (Matthew); his stepgrandchildren, Madison, Harper Trabulsy and Phillip Guettler; his sister Patricia Scottaline; his nieces, Kristi Scottaline and Kelley Deaton (Adam); and the mother of his children Jimmie Anne Haisley (Rick). He is also survived by three children.
