He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Augustus Markland and Petrona Ridley; his children, Teisha, Tamara, Andrae, Mellissa, Tarrick and Janella; and his grandchildren, Orlando, Akene, Jadon, Trena, Tes'ann, Zaria, Benjamin, Jardeane, Zaniya and Keneilia. He was also cherished by six sisters, two brothers, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
