Cactus" Jack Sewell began his life's journey in Toccoa, Ga. on June 6, 1935. He was the only son of Doyle Bert and Nafy Addington Sewell, the apple of his mother's eye. When he was fifteen years old the family moved to Sanford, Florida where he became the youngest Florida Jaycee at twenty years old. Shortly after that he became a member of Uncle Sam's Army. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to Sanford. In the early 1960's he moved to Fort Pierce, Fl. where he owned dime stores and helped charter the Fort Pierce Jaycee chapter. His storied history with the Jaycees is something legends are made of. After aging out of the Jaycees, he helped co-found the Florida JCI Senate. In 1972 "Cactus" helped establish the 19th Judicial Circuit which included St Lucie, Indian River Martin and Okeechobee Counties. After 30 years of service with the Circuit he retired. After beating heart by passes, colon cancer and skin cancer, he ended his journey on October 2, 2018. Sadly, he cannot take his beloved Florida Gators with him. Surviving Relatives: The love of his life, his wife Yvonne Sewell, Six exceptional children Doyle and Peggy Kirby Sewell, John and Sherry Johnson Sewell, Deidra and Ray Simpson, Brandy and John Highfield, Jay and Randi Thomason, Samantha and Scott Pressley. He was blessed with 23 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He leaves behind a very large Florida JCI Senate Family and exceptional 19th Judicial Circuit Family. Visitation will be held Saturday October 6, 2018 from 1:30PM- 3:30PM. Jack's funeral service will begin at the kickoff of his beloved Florida Gators' Game at approximately 3:30PM on Saturday October 6, 2018 at the River Walk Center; 600 North Indian River Drive, Fort Pierce Florida.
