He was predeceased by: his parents, Gabriel Messina and Lillian Messina; his sister Lillian; his brother-in-law Michael; and his nephews, James and John.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy; his sister Gabriella; and his children, Claudia (Jim) and Gary (Florence). He is also survived by four grandchildren, four great grandchildren and five nieces and nephews.
