He is survived by: his wife Mary Casperson-Sampsel; his children, Tabitha A. Sampsel, Scott M. Sampsel, Rachel Sampsel-Smith, Loren M. Farley and Richard J. Casperson; and his siblings, Brenda Stackhouse Elliott, Jacqueline Stackhouse Shoemaker and Charles James Elliott. He is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren.
