Vernon R. Vandersee Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Vernon R. Vandersee of Fort Myers, Florida, born in Sumner, Iowa, who passed away on September 8, 2023 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father Laverne Ralph; his stepfather Clarence Williams; and his brother-in-law Michael Gallagher. He is survived by: his mother Gwennith Verle Vandersee (Stewart) of Oelwein; his former wife Barbara Jean Michels; his children, Debbie Manross (Bryan) of Denver, Tammy Nelson (Patrick) of North Liberty and Daryl Vandersee of Oelwein; his grandchildren, Austin Manross, Ethan Manross, Quinlan Manross and Harper Nelson; his siblings, Barbara Lowe (Dale) of Fairbank, Elaine Gallagher of Hazleton, Ruth Wenger (Richard) of Fairbank and Paul Vandersee of Newton; and his friend Roger Carson (Bonnie) of Hazleton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
