With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Omer Guy Carter of Fort Myers, Florida, born in Shelbyville, Kentucky, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 5, 2024 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Ellen (Snider) and Boyd W. Carter; his wife Barbara; his son Todd; and his brothers, Boyd (Bo) and Charles (Charlie).

He is survived by: his sons, Mark (Kellie), Greg (Jackie) and Keith (Andi); his grandchildren, Marcie Cheshire (Dan), Kristin Esham (John), Nathan Carter (Kaitlyn), Kathrine Carter, William Carter, Zachary Carter and Jacob Carter; and his great grandchildren, Addie, Carter, Kolbe, Greer, Lane, Beau, Reese, Riley, Casey, Lilly, Gracie and Easton.

In lieu of flowers you can make donations to Hospice of the Bluegrass or Salvation Army.
