Jeremiah Martinus Harman Obituary

Jeremiah Martinus Harman, age 32, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, in Fort Myers, Florida from an unexpected medical event. He was born Arther Lee Brown III on February 22, 1990 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and welcomed by his loving parents, Joanne and Marcus Harman. As a youth in Bethany, Oklahoma, he attended Overholser Elementary, Western Oaks Middle School, and Putnam City West High School. Jeremiah went on to further his education, attending Francis Tuttle Technology Center, earning an associate degree as a Medium/Heavy Diesel Service Technician while achieving multiple certifications. He was currently employed by Cement Industries, Inc., Fort Myers, Florida.

When he was young, Jeremiah participated in team sports playing baseball and football. He liked watching Thunder games and was an Oklahoma University (OU) and Minnesota Vikings fan. He was a BSA scout for 5 years earning the Arrow of Light award. During this time, he was introduced to camping and fishing, which turned into a passion of his. Jeremiah was gifted to be mechanically inclined that progressed from lawn movers, to cars, big trucks and ultimately his career. He embraced and took pride in his cultural roots. Enjoyed lengthy conversations with his late father regarding religion and politics. As a child, when visiting his Michigan relatives, he swam in Lake Michigan for the first time. This formed a lifetime love for the beach that provided him with a sense of calm and tranquility. This connection eventually played a role with his move to Florida, where he was looking forward to his upcoming nuptials and relocating his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Marcus Harman, and infant brother Jacob Harman; maternal grandparents, Anne Louise and William Johnson; paternal grandparents, Samuel and Marianna Harman; aunt, Catherine Dickey; cousins, Michael Senn, William Dickey; and close friend, Kevin Jones.

Jeremiah met his fiancée, Shayla (Niahela) Watson, on February 16, 2014, who survives him along with his children, Jeremiah Martinus Harman Jr., Ily Harman, Marcus Harman, Arturo Harman, and Ja'Raylon Durham. Survivors include his mother, Joanne Harman; brothers, Marcus Harman and Samuel Harman; niece, Lily Seeger; aunts and uncles, Ed and Linda Senn, John and Carol Brickner, Doug and Mary Lou Himebaugh, and James Dickey, Sr; cousins, John Senn, Jason Senn, John Brickner Jr., Justin Brickner, Joseph Brickner, Erich Himebaugh, Anna Maria Roberson and James Dickey, Jr; extended family in Indonesia; special family members and friends in Oklahoma and Florida; and childhood close friends that shared a tight bond over the years. Family was everything to Jeremiah. He loved and valued all his children and worked hard to provide for them. He tried to live by example that you can set goals and achieve them over time even with obstacles. His presence and big smile will be missed.

Jeremiah's Homecoming Celebration will be Saturday, October 29, 7:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m., Lake Hefner, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. This is a balloon release with family requesting Vikings colors of purple and gold for clothing and balloons. Interment will be in Marlette Cemetery, 3580 S. Van Dyke Rd., Marlette, MI 48453.
