With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Donald Grey Puryear of Fort Myers, Florida, born in Detroit, Michigan, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 30, 2024 at the age of 82. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ocie "Jake" Puryear and Beatrice Mae Stringer Puryear; and his brothers-in-law, Tom Adams and Bob "Mose" Adams. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Adams; his daughters, Lynda Stout (Stan) of Alva, FL and Lisa Chan (York) of Chicago, IL; his grandchildren, Matthew Stout, Maya Chan and Evelyn Chan; his brother Lee Puryear (Jean) of Ocean Pines, MD; his sister-in-law Nancy Adams of Lake Bluff, IL; and his nieces and nephews, Jill Wittman, Dan Puryear, Carol Wamboldt, Laura Markovic, Kathy Schroeder, Heather Hopkins, Nathan Adams, Ken Hett, Stu Hett, Christine Irbe, Jennifer Rosier and David Essington.
