He was predeceased by: his parents, Van Smart and Emilie Smart (Marlor). He is survived by: his wife Denise; his children, Bret Jr. and Emilie; his son-in-law Chuck; his grandchildren, James, Hannah and Jon; his sister Valerie; and his nieces, Michelle and Tiffany.
