With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Anita Marie Gilliland of Fort Myers, Florida, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 14, 2025 at the age of 82. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Anita Marie Gilliland to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ray Harlan and Audrey Janes (Applegate); her husband Harold Eugene Gilliland; her children, Mark Halsell and Kimberley Shirley; her stepdaughter Jeanne Crites; her siblings, Melvin Janes and Barbara Cox; and her stepgranddaughter Sarah Gilliland.
She is survived by: her daughters, Penny Cissell (Doug) and Melinda Verducci (John); her stepsons, Chuck Gilliland (Flory) and Bob Gilliland (Beverly); and her grandchildren, Chloe Coler, Griffin Rahn, Arabella Verducci, Sean Cissell, Megan Springer, Ashley Farish, Douglas Ferguson and Brittany Phipps. She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren, 7 step grandchildren, 17 step great grandchildren, and 2 step great great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Edwards Funeral Home (221 E Main St, Arcola, IL 61910). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to the Arcola Presbyterian Church or VITAS Healthcare of Fort Myers.
