He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Samuel Jacob and Ruth Leota Slavens; his wife Virginia Mae Slavens; and his children, David Slavens of Fort Myers Beach, FL, Janet McPheely (Brian) of Duluth, GA and Sandra Coots (John) of Darien, CT. He was also cherished by grandchildren; and two treasured great grandchildren.
