She was predeceased by: her parents, Ira Strickland and Roselle Scott Williams (Amos); and her siblings, James Wyley Williams (Jimmy), Thomas Harold Williams (Tommy), Ira Strickland Jr., Macke Strickland, Shirley Ann Williams Gay and Linda Williams Tiller.
She is survived by: her husband Amos Skipper; her daughter Wanda Newman; her son-in-law Vaciel Newman; and her grandson Christopher Newman.
