He was predeceased by: his siblings, Robert Dempsey and Louise Longbotham; and his grandson Joseph Keith Dempsey. He is survived by: his wife Abbie Dempsey of Fort Meade; and his children, James Dempsey of Fort Meade, Keith Dempsey of Wyoming, Steven Hall of Fort Meade, Patricia Ogborn (Scott) of Lake Placid and Cynthia Randall (William) of Winter Haven. He is also survived by many grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
